TRENTON 150

The Trenton 150 was the introductory Speedtrack offering and offered a reasonable set for the money. The two cars here are dirt racing stock cars but referred to as 'Sportsman' cars. These cars were never produced for the UK market but the bogey coloured one was called the 'Gremlin' and the Blue one was called the 'Pinto'.

The concept box artwork suggests the figure of 8 track was more exciting than it actually was, with this offering limited scope for other track options. That said, for the money it has probably outclassed anything else since in value for money.

Interestingly, the Trenton 150 is the only set to not have Matchbox's Armco type plastic crash barriers. Instead, it uses cardboard/plasticard items that clipped to the outside of the curve track sections.

The Trenton 150 was a lowly battery powered device and as a precursor to the Powertrack PT-1000 it probably lacked the F1 cars appeal.
